The Training Contract

We require that all our trainees undertake four seats of six months each. Currently trainees have a choice of a seat in four of the five departments as follows: Company Commercial, Employment, Family, Litigation and Property. In the near future it is likely that the firm will create a new trainee seat in the Intellectual Property Department.

Our trainees are given a high degree of client contact and are heavily involved (subject to supervision) in work for the Firm’s clients. Trainees are encouraged to involve themselves in all aspects of the Firm’s day-to-day work, including participation in the Firm’s marketing initiatives.

Trainees are also expected to develop non-legal skills and work as a cohesive team.

With a wide variety of language skills available amongst the Firm’s solicitors and trainees, those trainees with language skills find themselves called upon and encouraged to exercise those skills on a regular basis.
