Richard has been involved in a broad range of property transactions during a career spanning over 20 years, including most aspects of commercial and residential matters. He has acted for all types of clients from individuals to international corporations and advised a number of foreign commercial clients setting up their initial locations in the UK. He particularly specialises in commercial landlord and tenant work, acting for landlords and tenants.
He has been keen to promote and adopt technological advances and has been at the forefront of the changes which have revolutionised the way in which lawyers both work and communicate with their clients. Richard believes that whilst it is easy to underestimate the impact these innovations have had, he would have difficulty in imagining professional life without them.
Richard is a law graduate from the London School of Economics and was admitted as a solicitor in 1980. He specialised in property law at the City shipping firm Constant & Constant before moving to the Holborn commercial property specialists Tarlo Lyons. In 1987 he went into partnership with Jonathan Silverman and Christopher Sherliker to take over the firm’s fast developing property department.
