Michael deals with a full variety of family work especially the financial aspects of divorce and relationship breakdown.
Michael has a particular interest in the law that affects same sex couples and cohabitation disputes generally and has dealt with a variety of cases affecting non-marital couples, to include property and financial matters. He has considerable experience advising clients in respect of pre-nuptial agreements as well as pre-civil registration agreements protecting a party's assets before entering into a marriage or civil partnership.
Michael also has a wealth of experience dealing with matters that affect children when couples decide to separate. He has advised extensively on issues such as contact (formerly access) and residence (formerly custody), as well as child abduction and removal from jurisdiction cases.
Michael understands the important use of mediation and negotiation at all stages but also recognises the important use of effective court proceedings when a case urgently requires this.
Michael was admitted as a solicitor in 2004 and is a member and accredited specialist of Resolution. He holds portfolios in advance financial provisions and children matters. Michael is also an accredited family panel member with the Law Society and is recognised as a specialist in Family Law.
