Martin advises on both contentious and non-contentious employment law issues, with high-level experience in complex employment litigation and boardroom reorganisations. He has particular experience in the employment aspects of business acquisitions, reorganisations, mergers and disposals. Martin recently advised on the employment aspects on a £100,000,000 business disposal. Martin has been involved in several reported employment law cases, including Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust v (1) Prison Officers Association (2) R Adams & 716 Others (EAT 757/02).

Clients who have benefited from Martin’s expertise come from a variety of industries, including gaming, telecommunications, I.T., entertainment, banking and food manufacturing. Martin has also advised healthcare trusts and national charities on employment issues, and has been appointed to the Charity Commission’s Employment Panel.

Martin has written for numerous publications including City A.M. and Securities and Investments Magazine, and is often invited to talk on employment law issues to start-up businesses. He has taught employment law to Human Resources students taking their professional qualifications.

Martin qualified in 1990 and joined Silverman Sherliker in 2007. He has extensive experience in all aspects of employment law, having previously headed the employment department of a niche London commercial and employment law practices.
