Dennis heads the Intellectual Property Team at Silverman Sherliker, advising on all aspects of I.P. creation, protection and exploitation. He acts for an extremely broad spectrum of clients in the creative and entertainment industries, designers, clothing manufacturers, architects, technology companies, I.T., fashion labels and charities, and many entrepreneurs, based in the UK and internationally.
Dennis has been listed as a "leader in the field" of I.P. law in the 2010, 2011 and 2012 editions of Chambers UK, the leading independent directory of the legal profession; in describing the I.P. Team, a client is quoted as saying "the lawyers genuinely care and want the best outcome for me".
Before joining Silverman Sherliker, Dennis has worked across a wide range of legal specialisms, including commercial, company corporate, and has acquired in-depth experience in intellectual property law, particularly in the media and entertainment sectors where he established a notable reputation with his clients including a Legal 500 entry. He has advised producers, directors, broadcasters and trade associations on numerous issues in the field of film and television production. Throughout his career Dennis's overriding passion and emphasis has remained on intellectual property law, grounded on his background in the arts and the creative industries.
Dennis has acted as an expert adviser to the Intellectual Property Division of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Bhutan in developing intellectual property law procedures on a national and supra-national level. He regularly delivers lectures to audiences of students, creatives and new entrepreneurs at various colleges, universities and governmental institutions.
